Sunny Beam – setting the system time of the inverter
(jh) The system time on the inverter is no longer accurate. This can be caused by storing the inverter for too long.
You can set the time directly in Sunny Beam. To do so, proceed as follows:
- In the main menu, select “Time > Set date & time”.
- Make the necessary changes to the date and time.
- To save the settings, keep pressing “BACK” until the prompt window opens.
- In the prompt window, select “YES”. The settings are now saved.
If possible, only change the time settings (date, daylight saving time, time, time zone) when the sun has set and the inverters are no longer feeding in. This will prevent possible data losses.
To ensure the Sunny Beam functions properly, it is important that the
time is set correctly as it has a time-dependent mode (night-time mode).
In 12-hour format, the time from midday to 23:59 is denoted by the letters
“p.m.” (post meridiem, Latin for “after midday”) and the time from midnight to 11:59
by the letters “a.m.” (ante meridiem, Latin for “before midday”).
The date and the time of a PV system is described as the system time.
If you change the system time in a communication product, all inverters immediately adopt the new system time. Other communication products in the system, however, only adopt the system time after a certain period of time (max. 7 hours later).
When commissioning your PV system with a communication product (e.g. Sunny Explorer, Sunny Beam with Bluetooth®), the devices of the PV system automatically adopt the system time of the communication product.
If other communication products are added to the PV system, the new communication products automatically adopt the existing system time. All devices in the PV system will thus use the same system time.
