Sunny Beam Bluetooth® – setting the system time of the inverter
(jh) The system time on the inverter is no longer accurate. This can be caused by storing the inverter for too long.
You can set the time directly in Sunny Beam with Bluetooth. To do so, proceed as follows:
- In the menu, select “Settings > Date & time”,
- Select “Time” and make the necessary change.
If possible, only change the time settings (date, daylight saving time, time, time zone) when the sun has set and the inverters are no longer feeding in. This will prevent possible data losses.
If you are using inverters with SMA Bluetooth Piggy-Back, it is imperative that you set the correct values for the date, daylight saving time, time, and time zone in the Sunny Beam. If you change these values after commissioning and thus reset the time, the data pertaining to this time difference will be deleted in the inverter.
Please note that the time can also be reset if you change the settings for the
time zone or daylight saving time.
The date and the time of a PV plant is described as the plant time.
If you change the plant time in a communication product, all inverters immediately adopt the new plant time. Other communication products in the plant, however, only adopt the plant time after a certain period of time (max. 7 hours later).
When commissioning your PV plant with a communication product (e.g. Sunny Explorer, Sunny Beam with Bluetooth®), the devices of the PV plant automatically adopt the plant time of the communication product.
If other communication plants are added to the PV plant, the new communication products automatically adopt the existing plant time. All devices in the PV plant will thus display the same plant time.
