Bluetooth® – Usage of a repeater / set NET-ID
Only one blue LED is glowing
If only 1 LED is glowing, the communication is not reliable.
An additional repeater must be used if necessary.
Possible causes:
- The distance between the inverter and the Bluetoothdata logger is too great.
- There are objects causing a disturbance in the communication line.
- Communication is taking place across different storeys and may be disrupted by the properties of the ceilings/walls.
- During initial installation, try to establish the connection between the Bluetooth data logger and the SMA Bluetooth Repeater (in the case of disconnected inverters).
- Only connect the inverter afterwards (with corresponding repeater NET-ID).
- An additional SMA Bluetooth Repeater may be required to bridge the distance.
The radio range always depends on the local conditions (sources of interference, hindrances).
Since the Sunny Beam / Sunny Explorer only connects directly with one inverter (root node) and all inverters link to a complete system, this must be considered during plant planning and system expansion.
Several LEDs are glowing
In this case, please contact us directly for a more detailed consultation.
A specialist in communication devices will clarify the details and explain the steps to be taken to remedy the problem as quickly as possible.
Our SMA Service Line will be glad to assist you.
No LEDs are glowing
At least one blue LED is glowing if the Bluetooth® repeater has established a connection with the Bluetooth® network.
For good communication conditions, at least two LEDs should light up.
It is highly likely that you still have the standard NET ID (1) set.
Please set an identical NET ID greater than 1 (>1) in all devices in your system.
