Event numbers 9 and 901 indicate that there is no PE connection or that it is not connected correctly.
The inverter is equipped with a protective conductor monitoring device.
It detects
- when there is no grounding conductor connected or
- the protective conductor is not connected correctly
and disconnects the inverter from the utility grid if this is the case.
Depending on the installation site and grid configuration (for example IT grid), it may be advisable to deactivate the grounding conductor monitoring, see below.
Corrective measures:
If you are the system operator, please contact your installer.
.
| DANGER! The tasks described below may only be performed by Electrically Qualified Persons: |
Inspection of the complete AC cabling, in particular N and PE:
- Check for for loose terminals
- Ensure that the AC cables are connected correctly (particularly N and PE)
- Measure voltages between N and PE on the inverter and in the sub-distribution:
TNC-grids: N-PE: must be lower than 0.3 V
TT grids: N-PE must be lower than 30 V.
IT grids: the grounding conductor monitoring must be deactivated, see below - Optionally, measurements can also be conducted between L-N and L-PE, and between L1, L2, L3 in three-phase devices.
IT grid:
The protective conductor monitor must be deactivated when the inverter is connected to an IT grid. In this case, it may be necessary to connect a second protective conductor due to local installation regulations.
Regardless of the grid type, the protective conductor monitor can be deactivated (after consultation with the local grid operator) to prevent faulty triggering, e.g., due to grid problems. In this case, it may also be necessary to connect a second protective conductor due to local installation regulations. See the Operating / Installation Manual
and the Technical Information “Grid Configurations”
for more information.
If the message keeps on appearing, even though the AC installation has been checked by a skilled person, the cause and corrective action must be clarified by SMA Service.
In this case, please contact the SMA Service with the following Information:
