The optimal installation, according to the installation manual, is on a vertical wall. In individual cases, however, it is possible to install the inverter with the lower edge tilted forward. Please note that it is normally not permissible to tilt the lower edge backward!
Although the enclosures of all Sunny Mini Central inverters are very similar, you must bear in mind that – depending on the device type – different requirements apply for the maximum permissible installation incline. This is due to the use of different components in the inverters, for example the relay, which only function reliably up to a defined installation position.
The following inverter types may be installed with the lower edge tilted forward by up to 15°:
- SMC 9000TL, SMC 10000TL, SMC 11000TL
- SMC 9000TLRP, SMC 10000TLRP, SMC 11000TLRP
- SB 8000TLUS, SB 9000TLUS, SB 10000TLUS, SB 8000US (inverters for the US market)
The following inverter types may be installed with the lower edge tilted forward by up to 45°:
- SMC 4600A, SMC 5000A, SMC 6000A, SMC 7000HV(-11)
- SMC 6000TL, SMC 7000TL, SMC 8000TL
- SB 5000US, SB 6000US, SB 7000US, SB 8000US (inverters for the US market)
This applies for all Sunny Mini Central inverters.
