Sunny Boy Control

If parts of your module field are shaded or covered by snow, energy faults are predominantly signaled in the winter if the modules are covered by snow, or following inverter replacement, as a result of the pre-set tolerance in the Sunny Boy Control.

In the event of a device replacement, the Sunny Boy Control reports a difference in yield as the replacement inverter indicates an E-total of 0 kWh on commissioning.

You must reset this warning in the main menu of the Sunny Boy Control:

  • Enter the ID code in “Settings > Password”.
  • Select > “System > Inst.Function > —” and press Enter. A ‘bar’ is flashing.
  • Using the arrow keys, navigate to “Reset fault”.
  • Press Enter twice until “—” appears.
  • Press Enter until the ‘bar’ flashes again,
  • Using the arrow keys, navigate to “Reset diagnostics”.
  • Press Enter twice until “—” appears.

Once the fault and diagnostics have been reset, you must wait for a moment for the Sunny Boy Control to accept the change.

After this, the flashing in the display should stop and the “Energy” fault should no longer be signaled.

In the winter, it is recommended that energy tolerance in the Sunny Boy Control is reduced to 10-20% (menu “System > Tolerances”).

Notice: Communication is only possible if the inverter is in operation.
The supply of the power supply network is ensured via the PV array voltage (Vpv).
