Which smart home applications are possible?
(jh) The following smart home applications are possible:
- On/off control via SMA radio-controlled socket
- Control of smart electronics (coffee machine, TV, etc.)
- Control of windows, doors, blinds, smoke alarms
- Control of heating system (room temperature, etc. can only be controlled with the managers of the heating systems). The Sunny Home Manager is ideally suited to assigning electrical energy to heaters in such a way that primarily PV energy is consumed.
- Control of electric vehicles. Incorporation of eMobility in energy management has already been implemented by some manufacturers of charging stations, e.g. Mennekes. The electric vehicle receives only PV electric current to charge the battery. If there is insufficient PV energy available, the required charging energy is drawn as cost-effectively as possible from the utility grid. With a view to the innovations in this important sector, we are currently engaged in a research project with BMW and TU München.
- Control of the heat pump (the Sunny Home Manager is ideally suited to assigning only PV energy to heat pumps). The coupling is made via a signal contact (SG Ready) or via a direct data connection. In particular, the heat pumps of our cooperation partner, Stiebel Eltron, can be controlled via data connection and they achieve ideal consumption of locally generated PV energy so that a higher level of self-consumption takes place.
