How is the Internet connection of SMA devices encrypted in SMA Smart Home?
(jh) There are two different connections which the Sunny Home Manager establishes to the Sunny Portal. Firstly, the cyclical contact with the Sunny Portal to store historical data and, secondly, the access from the Sunny Portal to display live data of the system.
Both connections are encrypted via AES with 256-bits.
The devices managed by the Sunny Home Manager all have a unique key with which they verify themselves to the Sunny Portal. This key is used during the Sunny Portal registration. This two-step concept also protects against a technical compromise.
Access to the Sunny Portal via the web browser takes place via a HTTPS connection with a TLS encryption.
